10/2 Rossz

Look before you pay! You'll probably leave.
If we hadn't paid the non-refundable rate, we would have walked out right away. It was in a scary neighborhood. The check-in counter was behind a wall of glass with a little tray to slide your ID through. If they don't trust the people in the neighborhood what does that say to the clients coming in. The lady behind the desk was sort of friendly. She didnât talk much. Concerning the room: it was nothing like the picture on the website. It was very small. The bed was made well but uncomfortable, as were the pillows. There were long black hairs around the bed and in the bathroom. The mirror was so scratched it was hard to see your face in it. The outside of the room looked like it was on a loading dock with all sorts of stuff lying around -- chairs, pieces of carpet, old cabinets, etc. When we came back from dinner at night it was dark and hard to tell where we were going. Just plain scary! The ice machine and other machines were not working. There was only coffee available in the breakfast room. When we ask about both these problems we were told it was because they were renovating. If you can't afford to keep up the hotel during renovation it shouldn't be open to the public. The morning staff was friendly but that doesn't make up for the terrible condition of the hotel. I will never stay at a Howard Johnson's again!
