One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Been coming back for the past 10 years, I usually stay here whenever I'm in Berlin. Yes, it's a little bit dated and could maybe do with a little refurbishment at this point, but it's still so stylish and well-constructed, you can't really complain. Kitchenette, lovely bathtub, elegant furniture. Very 80s/90s, in the best way. Just make sure to get a room with a balcony! It's a bit of a journey into the "city centre", but then again, Berlin is so massive, that doesn't really make a difference, and the surrounding area is stunning - you can easily spend a day just walking around the parks and lakes in the immediate vicinity. It's also close to Volkspark Friedrichshain, Pankow and Moabit, and other stunning areas, and you can catch the Ringbahn to Charlottenburg (and avoid the "city centre" altogether...) Not the best place to stay if you've only got a few days to spend in the city, but if you've got a week or so and like to cook a few dinners at "home", this is a very cosy, well-equipped and comfortable place to reside!
