Yes, this hotel & the older building it's in has it quirks, but if you go in knowing that then it has a lot to offer.
The unique coffee shop/lobby was not an issue at all. Check-in and check-out were both simple and we were greeted very kindly every time we left or returned.
The room was huge and so was the TV! WiFi worked well in the room and the beds were comfortable. It lacked some furniture, but at the same time a full sofa was nice to have. The bathroom was a little small and dated, but nothing that detracted from the stay.
As for the uncontrollable heat, we kept ours turned off and occasionally cracked the window when it was still too warm -- we faced the alley so traffic noise was at a minimum.
I have buried the lead, but the location is great! Having both the Farragut West and North metro stations nearby was perfect, plus it's not a far walk to the White House & National Mall.
For the price I would definitely stay here again. Also, make sure to go one block over and get a sandwich at Bub & Pop's. Saw them featured on the Food Network and had some of the best sandwiches ever.
