All in all we had a very pleasant stay at the Hotel Melia Coral. Staff was friendly, pool and private beach were both well maintained and comfortable. Food was always plenty and tasty. The only things bothering us were:
1. Parking
They allow every guest to park in their private parking lot, which is nice, except they never count the amount of permits given out and the number of spaces in the lot is limited. This means at the same time there might be 300 cars allowed to go into the lot, but only 200 spaces. People coming home late will find no place to park...in this case parking is at a public parking area near the hotel which is very busy most of the time, and is also uninsured naturally.
2. Understaffed reception
I don't know if this is because of general shortage in workforce or post-COVID ramp-up issue, but the reception always had a line of 4-5 people waiting in front of it. Checking in and checking out was more than 20-25 minutes. You would expect way faster service, especially since you are required to check-in online beforehand, but with a single person dealing with ALL queries alone it will be always slow.
3. Air Conditioning
I am used to hotel air conditioning not being very strong, but having a fully turned on AC running for hours in a room and still seeing temperatures above 26 °C and rising was disappointing. We contacted the reception and got a different room that was only 25 °C and eventually went even lower a bit.
