Positive: - great location - helpful staff - room cleaned every day Negative: - small room (even for one person) - very basic bathroom - the place is a bit dated - no guest policy (it's in the small print of the booking) Verdict: The hotel staff is polite and helpful, but all-in-all, this place is not good value for money IMO. I paid over £700 for 6 nights and it's a very basic hostel. The lack of amenities and the no guest policy is annoying and just makes the whole experience overpriced. Would not stay here again.

The rooms combine modern furnishings and fixtures with the traditional architecture of the building. The hostal is centrally located in the Puerta del Sol area; a great location, especially for solo travelers, with countless restaurants, bars and cafes and shops nearby, and within walking distance from major attractions such as the Prado Museum, El Retiro park, and the Royal Palace.
