We arrived after a grueling 6-hour drive at 2:30PM. The staff would not allow us to check in until 3:00. We had to unload all our gear from the car into a cramped storage closet, then unload it 30 minutes later. There was absolutely no reason for this other than a mindless adherence to policy.
Then, when we eventually got to our room we discovered that it had no window. We requested a room with a window and were told that only the suites have windows. I then requested a suite and said I'd pay the difference in price. They said "no", so I said I'd book an additional night, two nights in the suite, a win-win offer. They said "no" again because the registration form had already been completed.
As you can see from these two examples, the staff at this hotel has been trained to follow rules rather than provide customer service. We booked a room at the Sleep Inn and the vibe is totally better.
