Rhodes

What you need to know before you go

Rhodes is the largest and most historically significant of Greece’s Dodecanese islands. Once the location of one of the wonders of the ancient world, many remnants of its glorious past endure to this day. These rank alongside lovely beaches and a beautiful wooded interior to create a popular island destination.

Among Rhodes main draws are the Acropolis in Lindos, the Old Town in Rhodes Town (the island’s capital), and the nightlife in Faliraki. While Rhodes is ringed with beaches, you’ll find the east coast has the best variety, ranging from family-friendly sandy shores to picturesque pebbly escapes.
