I stayed at the go2 Orchard Gloucester Hotel on 9 January 2026 as an emergency stay because nothing else was available. I deeply regret it.
The hotel condition was appalling:
· The television was held together with celotape
· The paintwork looked like it had been done by amateurs - patchy and poorly finished
· Everything felt temporary and unprofessional
· Honestly, it was the worst condition I have ever seen in a UK hotel. I was embarrassed to be there
But worse than the condition was what happened next:
I paid £8.00 for my stay and entered my registration at reception, as required. Weeks later, I received a Parking Charge Notice from Civil Enforcement Ltd claiming I had not paid.
I immediately contacted the hotel. Staff told me on 19 January they had "applied regarding the parking ticket" and that it was "under process." I trusted them.
During February, Civil Enforcement's own website showed "PCN not found" when I tried to view the ticket. I have dated screenshots proving this. But after the 28-day appeal window expired, the ticket suddenly reappeared. I can no longer appeal.
The hotel has the power to cancel this immediately. They are the landowner. Instead, they have made excuses and failed to act.
Verdict: A rundown hotel that doesn't care about its guests and uses a predatory parking company to harass them after they've already paid. Avoid at all costs.

The hotel and room where so dirty and falling apart we where unable to stay the night. I have never seen such an unclean hotel with broken furniture all over the place. I did feel sorry for the staff running it as they generally tried very hard. There was also a discrepancy over the cost of parking and a £20 charge for a dog, of which it doesn’t state when booking, this I feel is as outrageous.

Welcoming staff. Rooms starting to get a little dated, but nothing that bothers me too much. Nice tv, comfortable bed, powerful shower.....a little too powerful that it sprays the ceiling, but i enjoyed it nonetheless. Plenty of parking, onsite and on street. Various places to eat near by. Wasn’t given the bigger room I was promised while booking (in order to have space for a pram & travel cot due to having a baby with us) the room we were given was in horrendous condition - paint chipped and peeling everywhere, bathroom door didn’t stay closed and was also covered in dents/holes, room smelled disgusting, window wouldn’t close properly so it was cold all night. Night staff came to the room to attempt to help make space for the travel cot and then would not leave for over 20 mins despite repeatedly being told by 2 of us that we were fine. Staff in the morning on check out was very rude. We booked 2 nights but only stayed one because we were so disappointed!!

Don’t normally do this but…
C’mon team. Clean this place up. Wash the dirty hand prints off the walls (brown, black, yellow…food, coffee…who knows)
Get a real vacuum, replace the carpets.
Get your cleaners to clean the corners that are full of dirt, dust, dead bugs.
And replace those 30 year old shattered mattresses.
This place felt more like a dirty frat house than a hotel.
My team and I live in hotels, Night after night. Months at a time

The staff were friendly and pleasant. The room was very dusty, and because of this,it smelt. There was a big dent in the bathroom door and the bathroom was not very clean….the toilet seat was yellow,the sinks silicone was dirty,there was no plug. The shower needed a good bleaching and clean. The bed was comfortable.

Staff very welcoming and friendly but the place would benefit from a good clean and tidy up with some much needed general maintenance and TLC then it would be really nice.
Floors need a good sweep and hoover in rooms and public areas to clear debris left from previous guests such as toenail clippings.
The furniture in the room was grubby and tired and would benefit from a good wipe down, kettle was rusty. Bathroom was again in need of a good clean and general maintenance, no plug-in sink and toilet roll holder barely hanging on.
I admittedly made no complaint during my stay as it was a very last minute booking that was under £40 for the night so put it down to experience.
