I had a very disappointing stay at the Holiday Inn Lower East Side.
From the moment I arrived, the front desk experience was poor. The staff member checking me in was unfriendly and gave the impression that I was not welcome. When I later raised an issue, her reaction made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed rather than helped.
The hotel itself also had several problems. There was a noticeable cigarette smell, despite this being a non-smoking property. On top of that, an alarm was ringing for 20–30 minutes during the night, making it impossible to sleep, and no one seemed to address it promptly. The WiFi in the room also did not work, which made the stay even more frustrating.
Overall, I did not feel welcomed at any point during my stay. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had, and management should seriously review both service standards and basic guest comfort.
